No adaptor required, but it will be manual focus only. There is no adaptor for AF drive available.

You do not need an adapter if the 70-210 is a Nikon F-mount Nikkor lens. It will mount on the D3000 directly. However, on a D3000, autofocus will not work with older screw-drive AF Nikkor lenses because the camera body does not have an internal AF motor. In that case, the lens can still be used with manual focus only. There is no adapter that adds the missing autofocus drive.
