The Minolta X-700 35mm Film SLR is specially meant for simple point-and-shoot photography. This camera is compatible with Minolta lenses having MD or MC mount types. The camera comes with an exposure adjustment control. You may use the automatic exposure program to capture clear pictures even in dim-lit conditions. The camera also has a film speed rotating switch and a maximum ISO range up to 1600. This camera can click pictures of moving objects thanks to its fast shutter speed up to 1/1000th of a second. The camera has a coated mirror that provides an 11% bright imagery. This camera has LEDs to indicate photo priority modes, exposure and shutter speeds in P and A modes.
Optics and Focus
Minolta X-700 features program system to control the exposure in the camera. It provides a fast auto-exposure based on both shutter and aperture priority. Moreover, the exposure can be controlled manually allowing you to experiment with different shutter and aperture settings. With the aperture lock, the camera prevents accidental movement in P and A mode. The camera has maximum ISO range up to 1600 that lets you shoot well-lit images even in low-light. With the fastest shutter speed up to 1/1000th of a second, the camera can capture images of moving objects.
Sensor and Screen
The camera has a touch-switch that turns on the camera meter, viewfinder LED, exposure control when lightly pressed. A preview button is provided in the camera that lets you see and helps to adjust the depth of field in the image. An auto flash can be programmed using the Minolta Program System. The camera has a viewfinder that displays flash range and flash-ready indicator. With the coated mirror, the camera’s viewfinder provides 11% brighter preview.
Image and video
The Minolta X-700 works with 35mm films. It has a safe load function that shows whether the camera chamber already has a film in it or not. At the rear, an ISO table is provided with both DIN and ASA values. It also has a memo holder for keeping film type, and the number of exposures noted. The camera has a film advance lever that has a 30° unengaged movement.
Other Features
The camera has a lubricated stainless steel lens mount that allows you change the lens swiftly. You may attach a carry strap to the camera for comfortable carrying. There is a socket beneath the camera, which lets you attach it to a tripod. A front grip is provided in the design that allows you to hold the camera firmly. Other features in the camera included sync terminal, diaphragm control lever, strap eyelet, MD and MC coupler.
