Condition: Good
The Canon Rebel 2000 gives you a break from today's fast-paced digital photography. This 35mm film camera includes all the essential functions most DSLRs offer these days. This camera can fit a Canon EF-mount lens. The camera's focusing abilities are powered by the TTL-SIR CMOS sensor. You can also select the focus points manually. The camera uses the TTL full-aperture metering by a 35-zone SPC photocell and offers three metering patterns, namely evaluative, central partial, and center-weighted average metering. You can preset up to 9 exposures on a single frame. The SLR-type roof-prism viewfinder gives 90% frame coverage and 0.70× magnification. You can capture photos at night or in dark indoor areas with the built-in flash. The camera requires two fully-charged CR2 lithium batteries to function.
Optics and Focus
The camera is compatible with Canon EF-mount lenses. This Canon film camera comes with the TTL-SIR CMOS sensor that works in concert with the AF system of the attached lens. The autofocus points are selected by the camera in auto mode while the manual mode allows you to choose the AF points as per your requirement. You can opt for the One-Shot AF for capturing photos of stationary objects or switch to AI Servo AF for moving objects. The TTL full-aperture metering is done by a 35-zone SPC photocell. There are up to three metering methods from which you can choose the required one. The vertical-travel focal plane shutter offers a maximum speed of 1/2000th of a second.
Sensor and Screen
The Canon Rebel 2000 has an SLR-type roof prism viewfinder that covers 90% of the frame on both horizontal and vertical axis. With a 50mm lens, you get 0.70× magnification when looking through the viewfinder. The eyepiece diopter is set to -1 dpt. Camera-related information such as shutter speed, aperture, exposure level, flash status, focus indicator is shown in the viewfinder. The LCD panel also indicates similar information with the addition of film transport confirmation and battery level.
Image and Video
The camera captures images with 35mm films. You can click up to 9 exposures on a single frame to create a multi-exposure effect. The automatic pre-wind system makes the loaded film wind to the first frame. You can select the single frame advance for photo capture or the continuous advance for taking burst images. The automatic transport mechanism remains quiet, emitting merely 60 dB of sound during the process.
Other features
The Canon Rebel 2000 has a built-in flash with a guide number of 39 feet at ISO 100. It covers an angle of view of a 28mm lens and has a flash duration of less than 1 ms. You can fire the next flash after 2 seconds. The camera also has an accessory shoe that makes you attach an external flash. You can synchronize an electronic flash at up to 1/90th of a second. You can check the power level of one of four battery levels by releasing the command wheel from "L" position. The camera can take photos with 24 film rolls at 20°C and 16 rolls at -10°C.
