Condition: Fair
The Leica C1 is a 35mm film camera with an integrated Vario-Elmar 38–105mm lens. It analyzes the scene by using the center-weighted exposure metering. The camera offers two exposure selections: the programmed mode and auto flash. Frame the shot by looking through the integrated real-image type viewfinder with autofocus and close-up frames. The built-in flash has an effective range of 0.8 to 3.25 m for 38mm focal length and 0.8 to 1.24 m for 105mm focal length. For DX-coded films, the camera adjusts the film speed within 50 to 3200. You can imprint day and time, or date on the picture up to 2030.
Optics and Focus
This Leica camera comes with a Vario-Elmar 38–105mm lens that has an adjustable aperture of f/4–f/10.5. It uses an optical arrangement of 7 elements in 7 groups. Two aspherical elements are included to ensure edge-to-edge sharpness. The Leica C1 features the active infrared autofocus system that offers a minimum working distance of 0.8 m. With the exposure memory lock, you can use the set exposure even after changes in the scene. The camera allows exposure correction of ±2 EV in the auto flash mode.
Sensor and Screen
The Leica film camera houses a real-image type viewfinder that offers 85% screen coverage. It enlarges the image to 0.375× at 35mm and 1.05× at 105mm. The viewfinder has autofocus and close-up frames to assist in image composition. You are notified about the flash status by the red LED, while the green LED displays the autofocus and exposure meter status. On top of the camera, an LCD screen is provided to show exposure counter, date and time, battery state, mode, and self-timer.
Image and Video
The camera takes photos with 35mm films. As you close the back cover, the film spools, and winds on to the first frame automatically. The motorized film advance reduces your effort of winding the film after each shot. After using up the film, it gets automatically rewound into the roll. The film can also be rewound from mid-roll.
Other Features
The built-in flash has a guide number of 13 m at ISO 100. On new batteries, the flash takes approximately 6 seconds to recharge. With the date imprinting function, you can print particular date and time up to the year 2030. The camera automatically turns off after being idle for 4 minutes. A mounting thread is located at the bottom of the camera for attaching it to a tripod. The camera functions on a single 3V lithium battery.
