The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX10 II Digital Camera offers UHD 4K video recording and 20 MP image capture. This digital camera comes with a Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar lens that has a 35mm-equivalent focal range of 24–200mm. The camera is fitted with a 20.2 MP Exmor RS BSI CMOS sensor and a BIONZ X image processor to provide vibrant picture quality in low light conditions. This camera can take burst images at 14 fps in the continuous shooting mode. Both the 3.0-inch touchscreen LCD and 2.36m-dot XGA OLED Tru-Finder EVF are provided in the camera for scene composition. With the built-in Wi-Fi and NFC, you can send images to smartphones or control the camera remotely.

Optics and Focus

The Cyber-shot RX10 II digital camera is equipped with a Zeiss Vario-Sonnar lens that has a variable focal length of 8.8–73.3mm and a maximum aperture of f/2.8. The optical design of lens comprises 14 elements in 11 groups, which includes 7 aspherical elements to reduce spherical aberrations. Thanks to the Carl Zeiss T* anti-reflective coating, the effects of ghosting and lens flare are suppressed. The Supersonic Wave Motor offers a quick and accurate autofocus performance. Moreover, the Eye AF function detects the movement of the subject's eyes for the focusing work. The camera can take clear shots from a minimum focus distance of 3 cm on wide angle lens and 25 cm on telephoto lens setting. The Optical SteadyShot image stabilization cuts down the effects of camera shakes when shooting handheld.

Sensor and Screen

The Sony Cyber-shot RX10 II uses the 20.2 MP Exmor RS BSI CMOS sensor to capture vibrant images with accurate colors. Additionally, the DRAM chip and backside-illuminated technology ensure enhanced low light performance with minimal noise. The 3.0-inch LCD can be tilted to facilitate low and or high angle shooting techniques. Its WhiteMagic technology boosts the effective brightness of the screen. You can use the XGA OLED Tru-Finder EVF for composing the scene. It offers 33° viewing angle edge-to-edge visibility thanks to the integrated aspherical glass. Both LCD and the OLED viewfinder cover 100% of screen area.

Image and Video

The camera captures stills with a maximum resolution of 5472×3648 dpi in JPEG and RAW format. This camera can record UHD 4K videos at a frame rate of 30 fps. The continuous shooting mode can be used to freeze a fast-paced moment in a series of burst images at 14 fps. Both continuous shooting and HD video recording is supported by the BIONZ X image processor. There are up to 25 shooting modes that bring variety into your image or video capture.

Other Features

The built-in flash offers a maximum effective range of 20.4 m. Alternatively, an external flash or LED panel can be connected to the camera's hot shoe. Transfer images to your smartphone by enabling the built-in Wi-Fi. Also, you can use the NFC to link your smart device to the camera for remote triggering. The memory card slot supports popular SD cards, starting from Memory Stick PRO Duo to microSDXC. This camera functions on a 1080 mAh NP-FW50 rechargeable Li-ion battery.
