The Leica R6 SLR Camera has been illustrative of analog photography ever since its introduction in 1988. This camera comes with a 90mm f/2.8 Elmarit-R lens attached. The camera can be used with other Leica R bayonet lenses too, and thanks to its interchangeable lens design, this camera can be used with different compatible lenses. It has a manual focus and a maximum shutter speed of 1/1000th of a second. The camera's ISO can reach a maximum limit of 3200.
Optics and Focus
The Leica Elmarit-R lens provided with this camera has a 90mm focal length that captures crystal clear photos of distant objects. Moreover, the maximum aperture of f/2.8 ensures bright images. The lens has four optical elements arranged in four groups. Each element is multi-coated to provide a sharp quality and high contrast in images. The lens has a manual focus that can be used for clicking detailed photos of objects even from a close focusing distance of 1 m. With the nine-blade diaphragm, the lens offers a rounded bokeh. You may attach a 46mm filter on the front thread of the lens.
Screen and Sensor
The Leica R6 SLR Camera has a single-lens reflex viewfinder that offers a 92% screen coverage and magnification of 0.80×. It has an interchangeable focusing screen and offers diopter adjustment between -2 and +2 m.
Image and Video
A 135 format film that has a speed of ASA 12–3200 can be used with the Leica R6. The camera has a manual film-loading lever for advancing to the next frame.
Other Features
This film camera from Leica has a hot shoe for attaching an external flash. When mounted on the camera, the flash can be synchronized with the shutter at 1/100th of a second. You get a glimpse of the final image based on the current exposure and focus setting by pressing the depth-of-field preview button. The camera has an electronic self-timer that can delay the shutter release up to 9 seconds. This camera requires two SR44 silver oxide button cells or a single 3V CR1/3N lithium battery.
