The DJI Inspire 1 Quadcopter makes you shoot stunning aerial shots with an unobstructed 360° view. This quadcopter has a 4K camera that is stabilized with the DJI Zenmuse X3 3-axis gimbal. The DJI Inspire 1 works on the GPS-based flight control system. With the included DJI Transmitter, you can pilot the drone from a distance up to 1.2 miles. The 3-axis gimbal delivers 360° panning movement. The X3 FC350 camera is equipped with a Sony EXMOR CMOS sensor and 20mm f/2.8 wide-angle lens. You can capture 4K videos with a maximum frame rate of 30 fps and 1080p videos at 60 fps. Burst shots are also possible at 3, 5, and 7 fps. With the dual transmission support, one operator can handle the flight control while the other operates the gimbal and camera. The smart battery system estimates the remaining flight distance and time to return home as per the battery power.

Optics and Focus

The DJI Inspire comes with the X3 FC350 camera mounted to a Zenmuse X3 3-axis gimbal. This camera has a 35mm-equivalent focal range of 20mm that provides 94° field of view. The optical design comprises 9 elements in 9 groups that have an aspherical lens to ensure clarity, especially at the edges. With the f/2.8 aperture opening, the camera ensures bright imagery even in cloudy conditions. An anti-distortion and UV filter is incorporated into the lens design to facilitate working in bright conditions.

Sensor and Screen

The Sony EXMOR CMOS sensor produces 12 MP resolution imagery. Link the included DJI transmitter to the drone for monitoring the camera footage in 720p on your smartphone or HDMI monitor. The DJI Lightbridge system makes the drone transmit videos from up to 1.2 miles. You can add another operator for the flying task while you handle the gimbal or vice-versa.

Image and Video

The mounted camera on Inspire 1 can record 4K videos at a maximum frame rate of 30 fps or Full HD videos at 60 fps. You can also take still shots in JPEG and DNG format. The burst shot mode can capture consecutive shots at 3, 5, or 7 fps. Enable auto bracketing at 3 or 5 fps with a 0.7 EV bias. The DJI Inspire 1 can also shoot time-lapse sequences.

Other Features

The included DJI Zenmuse X3 3-axis gimbal ensures smooth pan, rotate, and tilt movements to make the shots look cinematic. You can remove the gimbal from the drone to use it handheld with an optional Osmo Handle Kit. The drone offers various flying options when paired with the Inspire 1 Mobile app. This app allows you to fly the drone by using the included map, change the return-to-home location when in travel, and makes the drone automatically take-off and land. You can also customize the camera control as per your need. The smart battery system uses special algorithms to calculate the remaining flight distance and time to return home. With the automated charging, the battery keeps track of the number of charges and discharges as well as overall health of the battery.
