Used Sirui P224Sr Monopod + Va5 Head - Excellent

The Used Sirui P224SR Monopod + VA5 Head is a versatile support solution designed for photographers and videographers who need greater mobility than a tripod can offer without sacrificing stability. Combining the lightweight strength of a carbon fiber monopod with Sirui’s VA-5 fluid video head, this kit is well suited for sports, wildlife, events, documentary work, travel video, and run-and-gun content creation.

The P-224SR stands out thanks to its integrated folding support base, which gives the monopod more planted footing for smoother operation while still allowing quick repositioning. Paired with the VA-5 head, users benefit from controlled panning and tilting that feels much more refined than using a standard photo head on a monopod.

Key Features

This monopod kit combines portability, strength, and fluid movement in one compact package. The carbon fiber construction helps reduce carry weight while maintaining rigidity. The 4-section leg design collapses down for transport and extends quickly when you need extra shooting height. Flip locks allow intuitive setup, and the small support feet at the base provide enhanced balance for demanding shooting conditions.

VA-5 Fluid Head Advantage

The included Sirui VA-5 video head is a major benefit for creators who shoot motion as well as stills. It delivers smooth pan and tilt action for cleaner tracking shots, more professional camera movement, and improved handling with mirrorless cameras, DSLRs, compact cinema setups, or long telephoto lenses within its load rating. The quick release system also helps speed up transitions between handheld and supported shooting.

Ideal Uses

This monopod kit is especially effective for field shooters who need support in spaces where tripods are too slow or too large. It is a strong choice for sideline sports coverage, birding and wildlife observation, weddings, live performances, interviews, and travel filmmaking. The folding foot base adds extra confidence when working with heavier lenses or when trying to maintain steadier framing over long sessions.

Build and Handling

Sirui’s carbon fiber monopods are known for offering a practical balance between durability and portability. The P-224SR is easier to carry over long distances than many aluminum alternatives, while the support-foot design gives it more flexibility than a conventional monopod. The result is a support tool that remains agile yet more forgiving during extended shooting.

Condition

This used item is rated in Excellent condition (90-95% of original condition). It will show almost no signs of prior use, with only very minor cosmetic wear possible from normal handling. Performance is fully intact, and the equipment has been carefully graded to reflect light prior use. Used items are warrantied by us for 180 days under the terms of the manufacturer's original warranty.

What Makes It Different

Compared with a standard monopod, the P-224SR offers a more stable operating platform thanks to its fold-out support feet. Compared with a full tripod system, it is substantially faster to reposition and more practical in crowded or fast-moving environments. The included VA-5 head also makes this kit especially attractive to video shooters who want smoother movement than a basic ball head can provide.

Recommended Accessories

To get the most from this monopod kit, consider pairing it with an Arca-type compatible quick release plate if an extra plate is needed, a padded carrying case for transport, a rain cover for outdoor production, and lens support accessories for long telephoto shooting. Video shooters may also benefit from a compact external monitor, shotgun microphone, or wireless audio kit to build out a complete mobile rig.

Why Choose This Monopod Kit

If you need a support system that is lighter and faster than a tripod but more stable and more video-friendly than a basic monopod, the Sirui P224SR with VA-5 head is an excellent solution. It delivers professional usability in a compact format and is particularly appealing to hybrid shooters who regularly move between still photography and video capture.
