The Minox 35 PE 35MM Point and Shoot Camera is compact and sports a retractable Minotar 35mm f/2.8 lens. This camera accepts standard 35mm film cartridge. The electronic program control automatically adjusts the shutter and aperture settings according to the lighting condition. You can compose the scene with the bright-frame viewfinder. The built-in flash offers a guide number of 14 m with an ASA 100 film speed. You can increase the shutter speed up to 1/500th of a second to take shots of moving objects. The camera runs on a single 5.6 V Varta V27PX or Duracell PX 27 battery. This camera comes with a glass fiber-reinforced Makrolon body.

Optics and Focus

The Minox 35 PE has a Minox Color-Minotar lens integrated into its design. This lens has a 35mm focal length that is ideal for capturing wide-angle shots. Moreover, the wide aperture of f/2.8 offers a shallow depth of field. You can manually focus the lens down to a distance of 3 feet. The electronic exposure control adjusts the shutter and aperture to the appropriate setting for current lighting condition.

Sensor and Screen

The camera comes with a bright-frame optical viewfinder that assists you when composing the shot. In the viewfinder, you can view current shutter speed and flash status. Also, a warning red LED in the viewfinder notifies you if the shutter speed is below 1/30th of a second.

Image and Video

This Minox camera uses 35mm standard film cartridges to take pictures. The backlight switch allows you to overlay two images on a single frame to create a unique double-exposure effect. The number of exposed frames is denoted in the frame counter.

Other Features

The camera has a built-in flash that gives guide number of 12 m with an ASA 100 film. You can use an external flash by connecting it to the dedicated cable release socket. The flash can be synchronized with the shutter speed at 1/90th of a second. You have to use a single AA-size alkaline manganese cell to power the flash. There is LED to show whether the camera battery is properly functioning or not. The camera can be mounted on a 1/4-inch threaded tripod.
