I’m looking for a compact 35mm film camera for low-light street or indoor use. My current Minox GT is small and has aperture priority, but it only supports film speeds up to ISO 800.
Ideally I want:
- compact or large-pocket-sized
- aperture priority or manual exposure
- a built-in light meter
- support for at least ISO 3200 film
- lower cost if possible
Are there compact film cameras that meet most of these requirements? Also, is there a good online archive for comparing camera features?

The Leica Minilux and Contax T2 both could fit, depending on what you mean by "large pocket-sized" and "relativley cheap". They both have aperture priority and go up to ISO 5000. The Minilux may be to big and brick-shaped for you, the T2 may be too expensive.

Yes—compact 35mm cameras with aperture priority and higher ISO support do exist, but the trade-off is usually price.
From the examples given, the Leica Minilux and Contax T2 both offer aperture priority and support film speeds up to ISO 5000, so they meet your ISO 3200+ requirement. The main compromises are size and cost: the Minilux may feel a bit brick-like for true pocket carry, while the Contax T2 is often considered expensive.
So the short answer is: yes, such cameras exist, but finding one that is also genuinely cheap is much harder. In compact premium film cameras, high ISO support, good lenses, and aperture priority tend to push prices up.
If your top priority is maximum portability plus low-light film support, those models are valid benchmarks; if budget matters most, you may need to compromise on size, features, or brand prestige.
