Overview
The Rode VideoMic Pro is an ideal shotgun microphone that is designed specifically for use with most DSLR cameras, camcorders, and portable audio recorders as a primary source of audio capturing. It features an all-new 1/2-inch condenser capsule. It is capable of providing broadcast-quality audio via a 3.5 mm minijack connector with a low self-noise of only 14 dB. The microphone also provides an output impedance of about 200Ω. The super-cardioid polar pattern minimizes the surrounding audio so that you can conveniently focus the recording on the subject being filmed. Finally, the trademark Rycote Lyre-based shock mounting system allows you to separate the VideoMic Pro capsule and the electronics from its mount. It is essential for protecting the microphone from external physical factors that cause vibrations and rumbling in the microphone.
