The Phase One P45+ digital film camera comes complete with the Hasselblad H2 body, P45+ camera back, HV90X prism finder, and Hasselblad 80mm prime lens. This camera can also be used with other Hasselblad HC lenses. The Hasselblad H2 body has a programmable exposure mode as well as aperture- and shutter-priority-based AE modes. The camera has an electronic integral leaf shutter that operates at a maximum speed of 1/800th of a second. The focus can be switched between auto and manual. Moreover, the focus-lock button can be used in the AF mode with the shutter release or one of the four programmable buttons. The camera is powered by three CR123A batteries.

Optics and Focus

The Phase One P45+ comes with an 80mm f/2.8 HC autofocus lens, which is made with six elements in six groups. It has an AF system that focuses on subjects from as close as 0.7 m. The lens has a depth-of-field scale, distance scale, and PC outlet. The electronic integral leaf shutter of the camera functions at a rate of 1/800th of a second. The exposure value ranges from EV 2 to 21. The camera’s programmed AE mode optimizes the shutter and lens aperture as per the lighting in the scene. You may also use other options in the AE mode, such as shutter and aperture priorities. The camera body features an acute matte type-D focusing screen that has spot markings for the metering area. This camera lets you switch to manual mode for overriding the automatic mode.

Sensor and Screen

The P45+ camera back of the Phase One P45+ camera offers a resolution of 6.8×6.8 microns or 39 MP on its 2.2-inch QVGA TFT screen. You may adjust the light sensitivity at any point between 50 and 800. The digital back offers a broad exposure range with its expose+ technology. This camera also has an HV90X prism finder that provides a field of view of 100%. It has a built-in multi-mode light metering and an integrated flash with a guide number of 12. You may adjust the diopter of the 90° reflex viewfinder between -4 and +2.5 m.

Image and Video

The P45+ back produces images in 7216×5412 dpi. It also allows you to shoot with multiple exposures, viz. 24-bit RGB, 48-bit RGB, and 64-bit CMYK. With the LCD screen, you may set the ISO on one of the four levels. The captured images are stored in RAW compression format. You may use the interval timer to click up to 255 pictures in an hour, automatically.

Other Features

There are two options for connecting an electronic flash to this Phase P45+ camera: the TTL hot shoe in the viewfinder and the PC terminal on the camera body. A two-dot matrix LCD is located on both the viewfinder and the camera grip. The camera runs on three CR123A batteries that can be inserted in the grip.
