OVERVIEW
PolarPro's 82mm Peter McKinnon Signature Edition Variable ND 0.6 to 1.5 Filter is intended for lenses with 82mm front filter threads and offers a 2 to 5 stop exposure reduction. The 0.6 to 1.5 density darkens the whole image, allowing for a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than would otherwise be possible. Rotating the front filter ring controls the degree of density, which helps in determining the additional exposure time necessary. You can express movement or add blur by slowing down the exposure duration. The image depth of field may be more readily managed by adjusting the aperture.
The front ring has a numbered scale of the stop values for easy, repeatable control over density settings, as well as haptic feedback to feel a click upon hitting a number without having to look at the ring. The ring is designed to prohibit any rotation beyond the stop values inscribed on it, and it has side knurling for a strong grip and to further allow rapid and exact alignment.
