Festival of Ballooning Recap

This year's 40th Anniversary NJ Lottery Festival of Ballooning was a huge success! Thank you to all who attended, we look forward to next year's event and what new balloons, food, and entertainment that may come!

While the weather for only one of the three days allowed for balloon flight, the weather over the weekend was great for taking photos as it was not raining or harsh weather as we have experienced in prior years. Unique University attendees, with guidance from Michael Downey, were able to capture some breathtaking photos throughout the three day event in Readington, NJ.

Not only were the balloons able to be filled and tethered down on the ground for the days they were not able to fly. Our exclusive behind the scenes access allowed our attendees to be up close and personal with the balloons. They were able to capture detailed shots of the crews setting up and breaking down the balloons (which if you have never seen hot air balloons in person they are huge)!

Now those that may not be the most fond of heights may not find themselves personally flying in a hot air balloon, but if you were ever looking to check it off your bucket list the New Jersey Lottery Festival of Ballooning does also offer tethered flights. This allows you to experience the flight and height of a balloon while being tethered to an area in the field. Though, if you are ready for the thrill and amazing views of hot air ballooning in action - it's a big recommendation from many attendees to at least try it once - there is nothing like it!
