Overview

With its rugged, lightweight body and user-friendly interface, the Nikon KeyMission 80 Action Camera is an ingenious choice for amateur videographers and photographers. The front camera is equipped with a 12.4 MP 1/2.3-inch RGB CMOS sensor, whereas the rear camera is equipped with a 4.9 MP 1/5-inch RGB CMOS sensor. Both the front and rear camera sensors are capable of taking high-quality videos and photos, as well as selfies, respectively. The Electronic Lens-Shift Vibration Reduction technology in the rear and front lens helps you to shoot blur-free videos and still images. Transfer your captured content wirelessly to your tablet or smartphone through the SnapBridge app by using the integrated WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity options. Furthermore, this action camera is shockproof, waterproof, and freezeproof.

Optics and Focus

The front and rear lens of the KeyMission 80 come with a focal length of 4.45 mm and 1.8 mm, along with an aperture of f/2 and f/2.2, respectively. The autofocus function in both the cameras is capable of automatically focusing on your subjects with outstanding details. Use the Electronic Lens-Shift Vibration Reduction technology, included in both the front and rear lens, to reduce the occurrence of a blur for taking shots with impressive sharpness. The shutter speed ranges from 1 second to 1/6400th of a second while the ISO ranges from 100 to 1600. The Exposure control and metering options make the task of performing exposure on your subjects a simple one.

Sensor and Screen

The Nikon KeyMission 80 is equipped with 2 cameras: a front camera with a 12.4 MP 1/2.3-inch RGB CMOS sensor and a rear camera with a 4.9 MP 1/5-inch RGB CMOS sensor. The front sensor lets you shoot videos and still images, while the rear sensor helps in taking selfies. The 1.75-inch TFT LCD monitor, which comes with a resolution of 230,000 dots, offers a 5-level brightness adjustment that can be used for setting the appropriate brightness to suit your preference.

Image and Video

The front camera in this gadget records Full HD 1080p videos at 30p in the MOV format, as well as JPEG photos at a resolution of up to 3968 x 2976 pixels. Use the rear 2528 x 1896-pixel camera for taking cool selfies. Use the Route Shooting function for shooting up to 100 still images or 10 3-second videos within a specified period and combine the videos into a single 30-second movie.

Other Features

The KeyMission 80 from Nikon sports built-in WiFi and Bluetooth options for transferring your captured content to a smartphone or tablet device with the assistance of the SnapBridge app. For added storage, you can insert a microSD card into the dedicated slot featured. Powering this camera is an inbuilt EN-EL12 rechargeable Lithium-Polymer battery, which enables the camera to capture up to 220 still shots and 40 minutes of footage within a single charge. Moreover, this camera is freezeproof by up to 14°F, waterproof at a depth of up to 3.3 ft, and shockproof by up to 5 ft.
