Overview

The Nikon AF-S DX NIKKOR 16-80mmE ED VR Lens is a standard zoom, that is designed to be suitable for a range of shooting applications. Its bright f/2.8-4 maximum aperture range is beneficial for working in low-light conditions, as well as maintaining control over your depth of field during the use of selective focusing techniques. This lens is designed for DX-format Nikon F-mount DSLRs, & provides a 24-120mm equivalent focal length range.

The AF-S DX NIKKOR 16-80mmE ED VR Lens features an optical design that has three aspherical elements, as well as four extra-low dispersion elements, to reduce distortion, spherical aberrations, color fringing, & chromatic aberrations, in order to achieve accurate rendering, sharper imagery, color accuracy, & greater overall clarity. A Super Integrated Coating, & Nano Crystal Coat, have been applied to individual lens elements to suppress flare, internal reflections, & ghosting, while improving contrast & color accuracy in strong lighting conditions. A Fluorine Coating, on both the front & rear lens elements, helps to resist smudges & finger prints, making them easier to clean.

The lens uses a Silent Wave Motor, for a fast, quiet, & accurate autofocusing performance, along with full-time manual override. Vibration Reduction image stabilization reduces the appearance of camera shake, for up to four shutter stops, which assits with working in low lighting, & improves your overall handheld shooting experience. A "Tripod Mode" is also included to suppress any ground vibrations while using a tripod. A seven-blade diaphragm is also featured, to produce a pleasing "bokeh" quality during the use of selective focusing techniques. Lastly, a specialized electromagnetic aperture mechanism is featured, to provide greater exposure control & stability, which is extremely helpful when working with fast continuous shooting rates.
