Once you have your microphones and arms all set you need a way to connect and monitor your audio. To do that we move onto interface/mixer units for XLR mics only. This allows not only for seamless connection to your computer, but allows you to adjust levels on individual mics. The reason you don't really need this for USB microphones is due to them having everything on the mic already.
