I’m trying to set up Wi‑Fi on a new Canon EOS R100, but the camera doesn’t detect my home network. What could cause this, and is there a compatibility limitation with certain Wi‑Fi bands?

If your wifi network is 5 GHz, the R100 cannot connect to it. The wi-fi capability in the R100 can only use wifi on the 2.4 GHz band.

A likely cause is that your home network is using the 5 GHz Wi‑Fi band. The Canon EOS R100 only supports 2.4 GHz Wi‑Fi, so it won’t see or connect to 5 GHz-only networks.
Check your router settings and make sure a 2.4 GHz network is enabled. If your router combines 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz under one network name, you may need to separate them or confirm that 2.4 GHz is active so the camera can detect it.
