Why does DSLR Remote Pro switch my Canon 700D to Bulb in photo booth mode with external flash?

I’m using DSLR Remote Pro on Windows with a Canon EOS 700D. When I enable external flash mode and then start full photo booth mode, the camera’s display changes the shutter speed to Bulb, which gives me blurry photos. On the camera itself I set Manual mode to 1/125 sec, f/8, ISO 400. Why is the software changing the shutter to Bulb, and how should I set the exposure correctly when using DSLR Remote Pro?

You need to set the shutter speed via the interface of the Remote Pro application, not directly on your camera. The camera is probably reverting to "Bulb" mode because the application is telling it to do so. The application, rather than the camera, will then provide the timing function. It will be similar to when using a remote cable release with the camera set to "Bulb": pressing the button on the remote for 1/125 second will result in a 1/125 second exposure, pressing the button for 1/2 second will result in a 1/2 second exposure, etc. You probably also need to set aperture and ISO via the application.
With a wired remote most of us are not precise enough to time "Bulb" exposures that are shorter than several seconds accurately enough. Your computer application, however, should be perfectly capable of timing the shutter command precisely enough to use shutter times up to the camera's sync speed when the camera is in "Bulb" mode.

DSLR Remote Pro is likely controlling the exposure settings itself. In photo booth/external flash mode, it may switch the camera to Bulb because the software is acting as the timer for the exposure rather than using the shutter speed you dialed in on the camera.
Set the exposure in DSLR Remote Pro’s interface, not only on the camera body. That includes shutter speed, and possibly aperture and ISO as well. If the software is using Bulb intentionally, it should handle the timing electronically; the camera display showing Bulb does not necessarily mean the exposure must be long.
If you leave settings only on the camera, the application may override them when photo booth mode starts. Check the Remote Pro exposure settings for the booth/external flash configuration and make sure the desired shutter speed is defined there.
