Where is Lightroom Classic’s “Eject after Import” option, and why might it be missing?

In Lightroom Classic 10.1, importing from a memory card no longer auto-ejects the card when the import finishes. I can’t find a setting in Preferences to turn this on or off, and reinstalling Lightroom didn’t help. Where is the “Eject after Import” option located, and are there cases where Lightroom does not show it?

When you have actually inserted a card which has photos the import window pops up in Lightroom. On the left side of the window is a list of devices. Just above the (Camera or Card Reader) Device there is a check box for "Eject after Import". This only appears when you have a card with images inserted.

In Lightroom Classic, “Eject after Import” is not a Preference. It appears in the Import window only when Lightroom detects a supported removable card/device with photos on it. Look in the left panel of the Import dialog, just above the listed camera or card reader device.
If you don’t see the checkbox, that can be normal: community reports indicate it shows for typical SD-card imports, but may be unavailable with some other media/reader combinations, such as CFast cards in certain readers. So if the option is missing, it’s likely due to the type of card or how the reader is being presented to Lightroom, rather than a broken Lightroom installation.
