Where can I find behind-the-scenes studio setup photos and lighting diagrams?

I'm looking for examples of studio behind-the-scenes or setup shots—not concert backstage photos. Specifically, I want to see how photographers arrange lights, modifiers, poses, and sets, ideally alongside the final image. Are there good websites, communities, or publications that collect this kind of studio setup material?

I think generally these type of shots are referred to as "setup shots" or "behind the scenes" rather than backstage. Why exactly are you looking for them?
If you're looking for inspiration for DIY and amateur set ups I would add the following group to chills' list:
Which contains both the set up and the final shot which is quite helpful for working out how things are done.
If you're looking for something more "pro" then several photographers who are active on the net post really good behind the scenes videos, try:
The F-Stop also regularly features set up shots and original images that are composited together, along with in depth interviews with the photographers/artists involved:

Yes—search for "behind the scenes" or "setup shots" rather than "backstage." Good places to look include Flickr group pools focused on studio lighting, posing, and studio/set environments. One useful community mentioned is S.U.M. (Setups Mandatory), which shows both the setup and the final image, making it easier to understand how a shot was made.
For more professional examples, look for behind-the-scenes content from photographers who publish their process online, such as Chase Jarvis and Dave Hill. The F-Stop was also noted as a source for setup images, composites, and interviews discussing how images were created.
If you want deeper explanations of lighting decisions and portrait setup choices, older Shutterbug magazine articles by Monte Zucker were recommended as a strong reference, and may be available through libraries or personal archives.
