I have a Sony A200 and a Sony HVL-F58AM flash, and I want to use the flash off-camera. What wireless triggering options are available? Ideally I’d like to know whether the camera’s built-in flash can trigger the F58AM, and whether there are radio trigger options for this older Sony/Minolta shoe system.

You'd use the pop-up as a trigger; it will provide TTL control of the F58-AM. The only thing you're missing, really, is the off-camera shoe (to mount it on a lightstand) and that's the same unit as the Minolta/KonicaMinolta OC-1, so you may be able to pick one up fairly cheaply on the used market. If you don't want the on-camera flash to influence the lighting, you can put a bit of card in front of it (it doesn't have to be white card) -- as long as even a little bit of light leaks from the pop-up, it should be enough to control the remote flash.

Yes. With the Sony A200, the simplest option is to use the camera’s pop-up flash as an optical wireless commander for the HVL-F58AM. That gives you Sony’s wireless TTL control without needing a separate trigger, though you’ll likely want an off-camera shoe/stand adapter to mount the flash on a light stand. If you don’t want much light from the pop-up affecting the scene, you can block most of it with a small card while still allowing enough light through to trigger the flash.
If you prefer radio triggering, you can use Sony/Minolta-compatible radio triggers from brands like Pixel or Phottix, or use a suitable hot-shoe adapter with manual radio triggers such as Cactus-type systems. Manual radio triggers are fine if you don’t need TTL. If you do want TTL over radio, systems such as Pixel King or Phottix Odin were mentioned as options for the older Sony/Minolta hotshoe.
