I’m looking for software on Ubuntu to stitch multiple photos into a panorama. I’ve tried GIMP/Pandora and Picasa, but I either couldn’t get them working well or didn’t have enough control. I’ve also heard of Hugin but couldn’t find clear installation guidance. What panorama stitching software is recommended for Ubuntu, and what’s the easiest way to install it?

Hugin is available in the Ubuntu packages so you should be able to install it as you would any Ubuntu package (depending on the version of Ubuntu you're using).
