I bought a Soligor 80-200mm lens that was sold to me as M42, but it clearly isn’t. I also tried identifying it as Minolta MC/MD and even bought an adapter, but it does not fit my old Minolta cameras. The mount has a notched locking tab, and I’m trying to identify it correctly. What mount is this lens?

The mount on your lens appears to be the one used by the Rolleiflex SL35 line of cameras. Rollei couldn't be bothered to give the mount an official name, so it's unofficially known as the Quick Bayonet Mount (QBM).
The mount locks using a notched tab (A) when turned clockwise. Other mounts that lock using a notched tab include Minolta SR/MC/MD and Contax/Yashica (C/Y). The easiest way to differentiate them is to note the types and positions of other lens-camera linkages.
For QBM, auto aperture is controlled by a pin (B) that's adjacent to the notched tab. Aperture setting for TTL metering is communicated to the camera via a tab (C) opposite the notched tab.

This lens is most likely in the Rollei SL35 mount, commonly called QBM (Quick Bayonet Mount), not M42 or Minolta MC/MD.
A few features match QBM:
- a notched locking tab that engages when the lens is turned clockwise
- an auto-aperture pin next to that locking tab
- an aperture-coupling tab on the opposite side for TTL metering
That notched tab can make it look similar to Minolta SR/MC/MD or Contax/Yashica, but those mounts use different linkage layouts. The position of the aperture pin and metering tab is the key clue here.
So if you want to adapt or use this lens, search for a Rollei QBM / Rolleiflex SL35 adapter rather than M42 or Minolta.
