What mount is this Vivitar 80-200mm f/4.5, and will it adapt to Micro Four Thirds?

I have a Vivitar 80-200mm f/4.5 MC zoom and I’m trying to identify the mount so I can use it on a Micro Four Thirds camera. I first thought it might be Minolta SR/MD/MC, but my Minolta MD adapter does not fit. The bayonet tabs seem larger than the adapter opening, and this lens also has aperture levers that my Minolta-mount lens does not. Is this likely a Minolta SR mount, or a different mount entirely? If it isn’t Minolta, what adapter type should I be looking for for MFT?

I think this might be a Yashica/Contax mount.

It doesn't have the bite out of the correct side of the flange to be an SR.

It doesn't have ears so it's probably not F.

It's actually a bayonet so it's definitely not FL/FD.

It doesn't have a huge ramp on the back so it's not K.

It doesn't have a small ramp/shield on the back and shows no signs of an on-lens stopdown so it's probably not OM.

That kind of leaves Contax/Yashica by process of elimination given the era of mount design shown. And these look like they mayh match up with other pictures of that mount.

Based on the mount shape described, it’s probably not Minolta SR/MD/MC. The community answer points instead to Contax/Yashica (C/Y) mount by comparing the bayonet shape and rear linkage details and ruling out other common mounts.

So your MD adapter likely wasn’t falsely advertised—it probably fits genuine Minolta SR/MD/MC lenses, but this Vivitar appears to be in a different mount.

Vivitar made the same lens design in many mounts, so the name on the lens usually isn’t enough to identify it; the rear mount details matter.

If it is C/Y, you would need a Contax/Yashica-to-Micro Four Thirds adapter, not a Minolta MD-to-MFT adapter. Before buying, compare the rear mount carefully against reference photos of C/Y and Minolta SR mounts, or share a clear straight-on photo of the lens mount to confirm.
