What is the keyboard shortcut in Lightroom for adding keywords and moving to the next photo?

In the Windows version of Adobe Lightroom, I want to keyword images quickly from the keyboard: select a photo, jump into the keyword field, type keywords, move to the next photo, and continue without switching back to the mouse. Is there a shortcut for editing keyword metadata, and what key moves to the next image while keywording?

The best way to figure out keyboard shortcuts in Lightroom is to hit CTRL+/ in any module. This will bring up the hotkey list for that particular module. It should be noted that each module in Lightroom has a different set of hotkeys, so make sure you learn how to use each module independently.

For quick reference, though:

CTRL+LeftArrow: Next Photo
CTRL+RightArrow: Previous Photo

Usually, if you are editing "metadata", you'll stay in the metadata editor. As for keywords, not sure why, but using the next/previous photo hotkeys seems to take you out of it. As far as I know, the only way to solve the problem is to bulk-edit keywords, then individually select each photo and add unique keywords.

Yes. In Lightroom on Windows, Ctrl+K jumps to the Keywording field so you can start typing keywords. To move through images, use Ctrl+Right Arrow and Ctrl+Left Arrow for next/previous photo. In Lightroom 3, this workflow works as:

  1. Select a photo
  2. Press Ctrl+K
  3. Type keywords (comma-separated)
  4. Press Ctrl+Right Arrow to go to the next photo
  5. Continue typing keywords

If you want to review shortcuts in Lightroom, press Ctrl+/ to see the shortcut list for the current module. Lightroom shortcuts can vary by module, so that reference can be helpful.
