While painting with the Adjustment Brush in Lightroom, I sometimes need to move around the image without switching tools. Is there a keyboard shortcut or mouse action that lets me pan temporarily while the brush is active?

Yes. In Lightroom, you can temporarily pan while using the Adjustment Brush by holding down the space bar and dragging with the mouse. This lets you move around the image without leaving the brush tool.
