How do I take several self-portrait shots in a row on a Nikon D300?

I want to use my Nikon D300 for self-portraits and have it take multiple photos automatically, about one second apart, rather than making a single timed exposure. Is there a camera setting that will let me choose the interval and number of shots?

Disregard my earlier comment. It seems , the easier option is to just use the interval timer shooting option. You can set the interval to 1 second and set the number of shots you would like the camera to take, and the camera would automatically do exactly what you want.

Yes. On the Nikon D300, the easiest way to do this is to use Interval Timer Shooting. Set the interval to about 1 second, then choose how many shots you want the camera to take. Once started, the camera will automatically capture the sequence, which works well for self-portraits when you need several frames in a row.
This is different from taking a long exposure or a single self-timer shot: interval timer mode is designed for repeated shots at set time gaps.
