Can the Sony DSC-H300 take multiple self-timer shots after one shutter press?

I want to use a Sony DSC-H300 for self-portraits/cosplay photos at home. The goal is to press the shutter once, step into position, and have the camera take several photos automatically a few seconds apart so I can change pose between shots. A handheld remote is not practical because it would show in the image, and it appears this camera may not support Sony remote control accessories or Smart Remote Control. Does the DSC-H300 support a self-timer + continuous shooting mode that will capture multiple images from one press?

The manual page you refer to in your question indicates that when continuous shooting is enabled and...

... recording with the self-timer, a series of up to 5 images is recorded.

So using the timer with continuous shooting enabled should do what your friend desires.

Yes. According to the camera manual, if continuous shooting is enabled and you use the self-timer, the DSC-H300 can record a series of up to 5 images after one shutter press. That sounds like the feature your friend wants for changing poses between shots.

This is not the same as a remote-controlled interval mode, and it does not mean full app/remote support. It simply means the camera can start with the self-timer and then capture a short burst automatically.

The key limitation is timing: those shots are taken as a continuous sequence, so they may be fairly close together rather than several seconds apart. If enough time between poses is needed, that could be restrictive. But if the goal is just to get a handful of self-portraits from one setup, self-timer plus continuous shooting should work.
