How do I move Lightroom metadata presets to a new computer?

I created custom metadata presets in Lightroom and want to transfer those presets to a new computer. I’m not trying to write metadata into the photo files themselves—I just want the preset files to be available in Lightroom on the new machine. Where are these presets stored, and how do I migrate them?

You did not specify your OS so here is location for Windows:

C:\Users\<your username>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom\Metadata Presets

Here you will see list of metadata import presets. For MacOS the path should be something like:

/Users/<you username>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Lightroom/Metadata Presets

To move them to another computer just copy the files from source machine to target one in the same directory (if LR is run in this moment may be need to restart it)

Copy the Lightroom metadata preset files from the old computer to the same Lightroom presets folder on the new one. Typical locations are: - Windows: `C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom\Metadata Presets` - macOS: `/Users//Library/Application Support/Adobe/Lightroom/Metadata Presets` Steps: 1. On the old computer, open the `Metadata Presets` folder. 2. Copy your preset files. 3. Paste them into the same `Metadata Presets` folder on the new computer. 4. Restart Lightroom if it was open. After that, the metadata presets should appear in Lightroom on the new system.
