I want to know the combined file size of all images contained in a Lightroom collection, including a smart collection. I understand the collection itself doesn't take up storage; I'm looking for the total disk space used by the source photo files referenced by that collection.

You can use John Beardsworth's FolderSize Plugin. Unticking 'Folders View' will give you the size of all selected files as well as their sum.

Altenatively Jeffrey Friedl's DataExplorer Plugin should be able to give you this information as well (see 'File Size (bytes)' on that site), but I haven't used it.
