I'm trying to use the Fujifilm X-T1's Multi Mode Viewfinder, especially the Dual display mode mentioned in Fuji's documentation. I can't find a separate menu option for it. How is this enabled, and are there any requirements for using Dual view?

Page 21 of your Owners Manual says “The DISP/BACK button controls the display of indicators in the viewfinder and LCD monitor”

It also says that Dual Display only works in Manual Focus mode.

On the X-T1, this isn’t enabled from a separate menu item. According to the manual, the viewfinder display modes are controlled with the DISP/BACK button, which cycles the EVF/LCD display options.

For the specific Dual display mode, the camera must be set to Manual Focus. Dual Display only works in MF mode, because it shows the normal scene view alongside a focus-assist view such as focus peaking or digital split image.

So the practical steps are:

  1. Set the lens/camera to Manual Focus.
  2. Use the viewfinder.
  3. Press DISP/BACK to cycle through the available display modes until Dual appears.

If you’re in autofocus mode, Dual view won’t be available.
