I filled the memory card on my Fujifilm X-Pro1 and had to delete older images from the card while shooting. I could only find a way to delete photos one at a time. Is there a multi-select or batch delete option in playback/grid view?

Highlight pictures and press MENU/OK to select or deselect (pictures that in a photobook or print order are shown by S). When the operation is complete, press DISP/BACK to display a confirmation dialog, then highlight OK and press MENU/OK.
I suggest to read page 65 of the manual.

Yes. On the Fujifilm X-Pro1 you can delete multiple images in playback by selecting them individually, then confirming the delete operation.
Use playback, highlight each photo you want to remove, and press MENU/OK to select or deselect it. When you’ve finished choosing the images, press DISP/BACK to bring up the confirmation dialog, then choose OK and press MENU/OK.
If you regularly clear the whole card after backing up, formatting the card in-camera is usually faster and helps keep the card organized.
