How do I add Pentax lens correction profiles to Lightroom for JPEGs?

Lightroom doesn't list my Pentax lenses in Lens Corrections. Can I install Pentax lens profiles manually, and will that work if I mostly shoot JPEG rather than RAW? If so, where do the .lcp profile files go, and is there anything that needs to be changed for JPEG/TIFF support?

Grab the .lcp file for your lens(can be found online) and drop it into:
- C:\Users[your username]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CameraRaw\ (for PC) or
- /Users/[your username]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/LensProfiles/ (for Mac)
The files are different for RAW or JPEG so just grab one for JPEG if that is what you use.
Lots more info on lens profiles can be found here: http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/multi/lens-profile-support-lightroom-4.html

Yes. Lightroom can use manually added lens correction profiles (.lcp), including Pentax profiles.
Place the profile file in Lightroom/Camera Raw’s lens profile folder:
- Windows: C:\Users[your username]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CameraRaw\
- Mac: /Users/[your username]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/LensProfiles/
For JPEGs, make sure you use a profile intended for JPEG files, since RAW and JPEG profiles can differ.
If a profile was created or downloaded as a RAW-only profile, it may need to be edited to work with non-RAW files such as JPEG or TIFF. Community guidance says this involves opening the .lcp file (it’s text-based) and changing the CameraRawProfile setting from True to False throughout the file.
After adding or editing the profile, restart Lightroom and check Lens Corrections again.
So: yes, you can import Pentax lens info, and yes, it can work for JPEGs, provided you use the correct profile type or modify the .lcp appropriately.
