How can I transfer RAW files or video from a Panasonic GX8 to an Android phone?

I want to move RAW photos and possibly video from a Panasonic GX8 to an Android phone (Pixel XL). Wireless transfer is preferred, but a cable-based method is also acceptable. I already use Panasonic Image App, but it seems to only handle supported file types and not individual unsupported RAW/video files in the way I want.

Is there a practical way to get RAW files or video onto Android from this camera without removing the SD card? If not, what is the closest workable alternative for sharing or quick mobile editing in the field?

I think Gnarbox might be what you are looking for. It allows you to edit/process files on the go using just your mobile phone/tablet

Check also if Eye-Fi direct is compatible with your camera and your mobile phone.

Based on the community replies, Panasonic Image App may transfer RAW files if you use its Image Transfer/batch copy function after connecting over Wi-Fi, but the limitation is that it copies everything rather than letting you pick individual files. One user reports importing those RAW files into Lightroom Mobile successfully.

If selective wireless transfer of RAW/video is the goal, the answers suggest there may not be a simple built-in Panasonic-to-Android option for that workflow. A practical workaround is to shoot RAW+JPEG: transfer the JPEGs to your phone for quick sharing, while keeping the RAW files for later editing.

If you want a more field-focused workflow, a dedicated mobile backup/transfer device such as Gnarbox was suggested. Another possibility mentioned is checking Eye-Fi Direct compatibility with your camera and phone.

So, from the provided answers: the workable options are batch RAW transfer via Panasonic Image App, shooting RAW+JPEG for quick mobile sharing, or using a dedicated wireless transfer/storage accessory.
