How can I save calibrated individual subframes in DeepSkyStacker for an astrophotography video?

I want to apply calibration frames (such as darks, flats, and bias) to each individual light frame, not just to the final stacked image. My goal is to export calibrated subframes so I can turn them into a video or timelapse. Is there a way to do this in DeepSkyStacker, or in a similar astrophotography program?

If anyone else ever has this issue I figured out DeepSkyStacker can do it. Go to Options->Settings->Intermediate Files and check

Create a calibrated file for each light frame
Save a debayered image when processing RAW images
Create a registered/calibrated file for each light frame

I'm unsure which of these options is the one that is needed (I just checked all of them), but if all are checked it will output calibrated subs.

Yes. DeepSkyStacker can save calibrated individual light frames.

In DeepSkyStacker, go to Options > Settings > Intermediate Files and enable the options to create output files for each processed light frame. According to the community solution, checking these options will produce calibrated subs:

  • Create a calibrated file for each light frame
  • Save a debayered image when processing RAW images
  • Create a registered/calibrated file for each light frame

If you enable them, DeepSkyStacker will output calibrated subframes that you can use to build a video or timelapse.

For RAW files, the debayer option is useful so the exported frames are converted into normal color images. If you also want the frames aligned, use the registered/calibrated output option.
