Is there a true hard/factory reset procedure for the Samsung NX300, or is the menu reset the only option? I’d like to know what settings it does and doesn’t reset, and whether removing the battery helps clear anything else.

The manual doesn't mention a procedure for doing a hard reset. The menu option leaves the date, time, language and video output settings alone. So you can use the menu option, and then change the date/time, language separately, or you can remove the battery for a period of time and hope for the best.

There doesn’t appear to be a documented “hard reset” procedure for the Samsung NX300 beyond the camera’s menu reset option. According to the available guidance, the manual does not list any special button combination or deeper factory-reset method.

The menu reset will restore most camera settings, but it may leave items like date, time, language, and video output unchanged. If you want those changed, you’ll need to set them manually afterward.

Removing the battery for a while may clear some temporary state, but there’s no reliable evidence that it performs a deeper factory reset than the menu option. In practice, the safest answer is that the built-in reset is the only supported reset method.
