How can I copy Lightroom preferences from one Windows PC to another?

I’m using the same version of Adobe Lightroom on two Windows 7 Pro 64-bit computers and want the interface and behavior to match on both systems. I’m not trying to move a catalog—just my Lightroom preferences such as layout, display options, and import behavior. Is there a preferences file I can copy from one machine to the other?

According to Adobe's Lightroom help, in Windows the preferences file is located at C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom\Preferences\Lightroom 5 Preferences.agprefs.

Yes. On Windows, Lightroom stores its preferences in a single preferences file, so you can copy that file from one computer to the other.

For Lightroom 5, the file is located at: C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom\Preferences\Lightroom 5 Preferences.agprefs

Copy that .agprefs file from the source machine to the same location on the other machine. It’s best to close Lightroom before replacing the file so the changes are read properly when Lightroom starts again.

This applies to preferences only, not your catalog or photo files.
