I have one main desktop and one laptop, and I’m considering buying Adobe Lightroom 3. Does a single license let me install Lightroom on both computers, or is it limited to just one machine at a time? Also, can the two installs be on different operating systems, such as one Windows PC and one Mac?

Adobe Lightroom's single license covers installing it on both your main desktop and your laptop. It even allows you to install one copy on a windows computer, and a 2nd copy on a mac.
