I want my Sony A7R II to record bracketed exposures in a linear sequence instead of grouped order. Is there a camera setting that changes the bracket order, and where is it found?

Drive Mode and Bracketing are described in the manual. There is a setting to change bracket order that may do what you want.

Yes. The A7R II has a bracket order setting in the camera menu. Check the Drive Mode/Bracketing section of the manual and look for the option that changes bracket sequence order. That setting is intended to let you alter how the exposures are captured, so it may switch the camera from grouped ordering to the linear order you want.
