Can the Canon 5D Mark III shoot an AEB bracket with one shutter press?

I’m using Auto Exposure Bracketing (AEB) on a Canon EOS 5D Mark III and want the full bracketed sequence taken from a single shutter activation.

Is there a camera setting that lets it capture all bracketed shots automatically with one press, rather than pressing the shutter multiple times or holding it down? If so, where is that setting?

According to page 170 of the manual the only way to have it automatically do it on its own is to remote/timer setting with 2 second or 10 second timer. This will result in all three shots taken with one press. Otherwise, you have to hold down in continuous modes or press three times in single shot modes.

Yes, but with limits. On the 5D Mark III, the built-in way to fire the full AEB sequence from one shutter activation is to use the self-timer/remote mode. With the 2-second or 10-second timer enabled, one press will trigger the whole bracket automatically. In normal drive modes, you typically need to either hold the shutter in continuous shooting or press once per frame in single-shot mode.

A useful quirk: if 2-second delay is enabled and you trigger the camera with an IR remote, it can take the bracket immediately.

If you want more advanced one-press bracketing options, Magic Lantern offers expanded bracketing features, but use caution: support for the 5D Mark III may depend on non-stable builds, so there is some risk.
