I need to update EXIF metadata for a large batch of images and add GPS location information. Is there a program that can batch process EXIF data and geotag around 2,000 photos efficiently?

Lightroom is how I do this. It's fairly easy to drop a picture, or set of pictures, to a location on the map or to synchronize it with a GPS log from your phone or, in my case, watch.

Yes. Two commonly used options are:
- Lightroom: You can geotag one photo or a batch by placing them on the map, and it can also sync images with a GPS track log from a phone or watch.
- ExifTool: A free, cross-platform command-line utility that can batch edit EXIF metadata, including GPS data.
For a large set like 2,000 photos, ExifTool is often the fastest if you’re comfortable with the command line. If you prefer a visual workflow, Lightroom makes it easy to drag groups of images onto a map or sync from a recorded GPS log.
If you have a GPS track from the time the photos were taken, syncing to that log is usually the most efficient and accurate method.
