How can I add a lanyard attachment to a 1/4" tripod/selfie-stick setup?

I use an action camera on a small selfie stick/tripod that connects with standard 1/4" threads. The setup works, but the tripod end has no wrist strap or lanyard attachment, so it feels risky to carry in crowded places or while moving quickly.
I was hoping to find a male-to-female 1/4" threaded extender with a built-in loop, to fit between the tripod and the holder, but I mostly find lanyard screws intended to terminate directly into a camera body.
Is there a practical way to add a lanyard point to a 1/4" threaded stack like this?

Do you have a scrap piece of strap/webbing you can sacrifice? Just get a length of strap, like from an old backpack shoulder strap, fold it half, and burn a hole with a soldering iron or hot nail through both layers, et voila! You have a webbing "washer" with a loop that you can insert between the tripod and selfie stick holder.
Kinda like this (I borrowed this product image from a jet ski supplier):

Alternatively, trying searching for keyhole washer. It's exactly what it sounds like: a washer whose hole is keyhole-shaped. They're often sized for 1/4" bolts/studs, with an enlarged side hole to remove the washer without removing the nut.
Use the washer in between the tripod and selfie stick, and you should have plenty of room to loop or clip a lanyard to:

A dedicated male-female 1/4" extender with a built-in lanyard loop doesn’t seem to be a common accessory. Based on the answers, the practical solutions are:
-
Use a looped washer/webbing spacer between threaded parts. A small piece of webbing or strap can be folded into a loop and trapped between the tripod and holder, or you can look for a 1/4" keyhole washer and attach the lanyard there.
-
Add a small threaded block/cube with side 1/4" ports. One answer used a tripod cube plus a short threaded rod and jam nuts, then screwed a lanyard loop into one of the cube’s side threads. That gives you a secure, modular attachment point.
If you want the simplest approach, a washer/webbing loop is the easiest. If you want something more robust and modular, a tripod cube or similar threaded adapter block is the better fit.
