I use a Canon EOS 60D and know that SDHC cards work in it. Is the 60D also compatible with newer SDXC memory cards?

Yes. The Canon EOS 60D supports SD, SDHC, and SDXC memory cards. This is listed in Canon’s specifications and also noted in the camera manual. If your card is a standard SDXC card in the correct physical format, it should work in the 60D.
