Do Savage LED2000K lights use a Bowens mount, and what speedring do I need for a beauty dish?

I have the Savage 2000W Location LED Light Kit and want to attach beauty dishes/light modifiers. The product description mentions using a Bowens speedring adapter, but I can’t find an adapter made specifically for these Savage lights. Do these lights already have a Bowens S-type mount, and if so, what kind of speedring or adapter should I be looking for to mount a beauty dish?

For a better answer, see if you can find the specific model numbers for both your beauty dishes and lights. I'm assuming you have the "Savage 2000W Location LED Light Kit" with model number "LED2000K." From what I can tell, these lights already have a built-in Bowens S-type mount. Therefore, any S-mount speedring, such as this, should fit.

Note that speedrings are only required for certain types of light modifiers, most often softboxes; some beauty dishes require you to purchase a speedring and others have the mounting portion built in. In the former case, your concern then becomes finding the right Bowens-compatible speedring to fit your brand of beauty dish, rather than your lights.

The Savage LED2000K appears to use a built-in Bowens S-type mount, so you generally do not need a light-specific adapter for the fixture itself.

What you need depends on the modifier:

  • Many softboxes require a separate speedring, and that speedring should be Bowens-compatible on the light side.
  • Some beauty dishes have the mount built in and attach directly to a Bowens S-mount.
  • Other beauty dishes require a separate speedring/adapter matched to the modifier’s brand and design.

So the key question is usually not “Which adapter fits the Savage light?” but “Which Bowens-compatible speedring fits my specific beauty dish or softbox?”

To confirm compatibility, check the exact model numbers of both the light and the modifier. If your light is the Savage LED2000K, any standard Bowens S-mount accessory or Bowens-compatible speedring for your modifier should be the right direction.
