Did pressing the shutter before winding film ruin my last shot on a Praktica MTL3?

I'm new to film photography and using a Praktica MTL3. I loaded the film correctly and took a few photos, but then I accidentally pressed the shutter button before advancing the film. I didn't hear any sound or notice anything happen. Could this cause a double exposure or ruin the previous frame?

Don't worry. As many cameras with curtain shutter Praktica MTL3 is constructed so that the shutter is set in a start position by winding the film. You can see it in this video (between 17 and 20 secs)

Most likely, no. On cameras like the Praktica MTL3, the shutter is cocked when you advance the film. If you press the shutter release before winding on, the shutter usually is not set, so nothing happens. That means your previous frame should not be exposed again, and you typically won’t get a double exposure from this.
If there was no sound or action, that’s a good sign that the shutter did not fire. Just advance the film as normal before taking the next shot.
