Canon EOS Rebel T6 LCD screen is completely blank — what can I try?

My Canon EOS Rebel T6 powers on, but the rear LCD stays completely blank. I’ve already tried the common basics: the battery is fully charged, I removed and reinserted the battery, cycled the power switch, and pressed the Display and Menu buttons. The camera is out of warranty. Are there any other troubleshooting steps or workarounds?

As you indicate Any other suggestions welcomed here are a few:

  • Take the camera in for repairs. Don't expect it to be cheap.
  • Use an external HDMI monitor to show the camera display on there.
  • Tether the camera to a computer via USB and control it through EOS Utility.

For the last two suggestions you can search the pdf manual and DuckDuckGo to find out how to do that. If something is unclear, please search Photo.SE before posting a new question.

If the camera powers on but the rear LCD remains blank after the basic checks you’ve already tried, the most likely issue is a failed screen or related internal hardware fault. At that point, the practical options are:

  • Have the camera inspected/repaired by a service center.
  • Use an external HDMI monitor, if supported, to view the camera display.
  • Connect the camera to a computer by USB and use Canon EOS Utility for tethered control and viewing.

Since you’ve already tried the normal user controls, there may not be any additional menu-based fix if the LCD itself has failed. Check the camera manual for HDMI output and EOS Utility setup instructions before deciding whether repair or a workaround makes more sense.
