My Canon 24-105mm f/4L works normally from about 40-105mm, but the zoom ring will not turn further toward 24mm. It also seems unable to reach the closest-focus end as expected. What could cause this, and what should I do?

My lens will not go below 40mm, it will not get to 24mm. Any ideas are welcomed me please.
Don't try to force it. Send it to Canon for service.

A zoom ring that stops around 40mm usually points to a mechanical problem inside the lens, not a setting you can fix in-camera. The safest advice is not to force the zoom or focus ring, since that could cause more damage. Have the lens inspected and serviced by Canon or a qualified lens repair technician.
