When using long exposures on a Canon PowerShot SX530 HS, the camera stays busy for about the same amount of time as the exposure itself. This appears to be the camera taking a dark frame for long-exposure noise reduction. Is there any menu option or setting to turn this off so you can shoot consecutive long exposures more quickly, such as for fireworks?

On the Canon PowerShot SX530 HS, there does not appear to be any way to disable long-exposure noise reduction in the official Canon firmware. The user guide notes the behavior, and there are no documented menu options or instructions for turning it off.
So if the camera is spending extra time after each long exposure, you’re likely stuck with that processing delay on this model. For shooting fireworks or other sequences of long exposures, you’ll need to work around that limitation by timing shots carefully or using shorter exposures where possible.
