Can you cancel an AEB sequence after the first shot on a Canon EOS 550D?

On a Canon EOS 550D, is there a quick way to stop auto exposure bracketing after taking the first frame of a bracketed sequence? I sometimes use AEB for long exposures, then realize after the first shot that the metering is off. Waiting for the remaining bracketed shots can take a long time, but going back into the menu to disable and re-enable AEB is also cumbersome.

I don't have a 550D to test this out on, but I know on some Canon models I find it most convenient to just turn the camera off then back on. It loses the AEB setting and keeps the rest of the details I am interested in.
This would be directed more at the question of simply how to abort AEB mode, rather then get you quickly back INTO AEB mode step 1.

A simple way to abort the remaining bracketed shots is to turn the camera off and then back on. On some Canon models, this clears the active AEB sequence while leaving your other shooting settings intact.
Based on the community answer, this is the most convenient way to stop the bracket rather than waiting for the second and third exposures. However, it may cancel the AEB setting entirely, so you may need to set bracketing again before your next attempt.
